PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To distinguish a water absorption region from a water non-absorption region in a water absorbent article.SOLUTION: A water absorbent article 1 is formed by interposing highly water absorbent polymer particles 4 between opposed surfaces 2b and 3a of two superposed sheet pieces 2 and 3 at least one of which is permeable to water. In the water absorbent article, a water absorption region 6 and a water non-absorption region 7 surrounding the water absorption region are formed.
