PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a loading device and loading method capable of being safely operated in loading food in a food processing machine from a container receiving the food, and capable of minimizing the idling time and stand-by time.SOLUTION: The loading device includes the container 3 which receives food, a lifting means 2 capable of driving the container upward, a driving device for the lifting means, and a measuring means for detecting the quantity of the food in the container 3. The loading device further includes a control system 10.
