PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a novel method for preventing erosive tooth demineralization caused by strong food acids or strong endogenous acids such as gastric juice.SOLUTION: The invention provides a mouthrinse for use in preventing erosive tooth demineralization, the mouthrinse containing chitosan or a pharmaceutically acceptable acid addition salt thereof together with fluoride ion and a kit containing chitosan or a pharmaceutically acceptable acid addition salt thereof together with fluoride ion. Preferably, the mouthrinse further contains dissolved tin, particularly a stannous ion.
