The present invention describes therapeutic compositions comprisingfibroblasts that have been stimulated to increase expression of extracellularmatrix components or elastin, or to produce enhanced elastogenesis or theappearance thereof at a site of administration. The therapeutic fibroblastformulations can be prepared using a variety of elastogenic agents, includingdigests of mammalian elastin, chemically digested plant extracts comprisingelastin-like peptides, and synthetic elastogenic peptides. The inventionfurther comprises cosmetic and pharmaceutical treatment methods using thetherapeutic fibroblast compositions of the invention.
