PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the risk of a subject sliding down from a bed even when the subject lets go of a hand hold.SOLUTION: An X-ray diagnostic apparatus comprises: a bed installed in an examination room a top board on which a subject lying on the bed is placed a bed movement mechanism for operating so that a head side of the bed is upward inclined or the head side of the bed is downward reversely inclined a top board movement mechanism for sliding and moving the top board in a longitudinal direction while keeping the subject lying on it and a distance sensor for measuring a distance from a head-side tip end of the top board to a wall of the examination room.
