PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ultrasonic wave irradiation apparatus capable of irradiating a local site with an ultrasonic wave, with no gel interposed, without causing a burn of the local site, securing safety even when being operated by a patient per se, and obtaining an effect in a whole body other than the local site by irradiating a local site other than a lesioned part with the ultrasonic wave.SOLUTION: The ultrasonic wave irradiation apparatus is provided with: an ultrasonic wave irradiation unit 110 that is abut on the local site of a living body without gel interposed, the ultrasonic wave irradiation unit 110 having oscillation devices 112 that emits an ultrasonic wave and drive control means that drive controls the oscillation devices 112. The drive control means drive controls the oscillation devices 112 so as to emit the ultrasonic wave at an output strength in a range of 40 mW±20% or higher and 85 mW±20% or lower per one oscillation element, which is based on the measurement method of an output strength of ultrasonic waves in an inspection by the U.S. food and drug administration, for a continuous drive time equal to or shorter than 60 minutes at an output frequency in a range of 500±50 kHz or higher and 800±50 kHz or lower.
