PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide oral care agents effective in the prevention of a calculus and a caries and/or and both the prevention and treatment of mouth odor without strong specific taste or odor in order to increase the compliance of oral care directions which are considered to be troublesome for animals and humans.SOLUTION: Disclosed is use of a binder microorganism or fragment thereof as a sensorically neutral oral care agent in order to increase adherence to oral care instructions or to reduce oral care avoidance behavior care in the prevention or treatment of calculus, wherein the binder microorganism is a lactic acid bacterium, and wherein the binder microorganism or fragment thereof, respectively, is capable of binding to a microorganism of the group of mutans Streptococci.
