A capping device (5) is configured to terminate a connector (4) while disconnected from another connector in a fluid transportation system, e.g. for peritoneal dialysis. The connector (4) comprises an exposed surface portion which is enclosed when the connector (4) is connected to the other connector. The capping device (5) comprises a body (11) defining a chamber (12) with an opening, a liquid-containing disinfectant in the chamber (12), a sealing element (15) arranged in the opening to form a sealed cavity (14) retaining the disinfectant, and a structure (13) for engaging and guiding the connector (2) towards the body (11) such that a portion of the connector (2) displaces the sealing element (15) into the chamber (12). The sealed cavity (14) is configured such that a displacement of the sealing element (15) into the chamber (12) actively presses the disinfectant out of the sealed cavity (14), for disinfecting at least part of the exposed surface portion.
