PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a single bearing reel that prevents intrusion of foreign matter to the inside of a reel body, and can immediately remove it even when invaded.SOLUTION: A spool 13 of a single bearing reel 10 has a spool body 16 and flange parts 17a, 17b. A fishing line is wound off in the spool body 16. The flange parts 17a, 17b are provided at both ends of the spool body 16. A reel body 11 has a body part 21, a support shaft 14 and a cover part 21e. The body part 21 can be mounted to a fishing rod. The support shaft 14 is provided at the body part 21, and rotatably supports the spool 13. The cover part 21e covers an outer circumference side of at least a portion of the flange part 17b of the spool 13. The cover part 21e has at least one hole part 21g.
