Disclosed is a pharmaceutical composition comprising Quamoclit angulate extract suitable for preventing or treating diabetes and its complications or for preventing or delaying aging, or for preventing or treating cancer. The extract is prepared by (a) finely cutting a whole plant of Quamoclit angulata and extracting the cut plant with a solvent selected from the group consisting of water, alcohol, an organic solvent, and mixtures thereof, thereby obtaining an extract and (b) filtering the extract and concentrating the filtered extract under reduced pressure, thereby obtaining a Quamoclit angulata extract.
