PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a system for regulation of blood pressure and a heart rate.SOLUTION: There are provided a system and a method for treating a condition associated with disorder in controlling blood pressure and/or a heart rate. The method for treating the condition associated with the disorder of the heart rate and/or blood pressure in a subject, includes applying an intermittent electrotherapy signal to a target nerve or tissue adjacent to the target nerve of the subject who has the disorder in regulating the heart rate and/or blood pressure. The electrotherapy signal is selected so as to at least partially down-regulate a neural activity in the nerve during an ON time and to at least partially restore the neural activity in the nerve during an OFF time.
