PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fishing reel including a fishing line guide body having a simple structure, and capable of reducing release resistance of a fishing line and the size of a reel body.SOLUTION: The fishing reel comprises a level wind device 50 having a fishing line guide body 60 in which a fishing line fed from a spool 5A is inserted and that reciprocates between left/right side plates, and a clutch mechanism 20 for changing over the spool 5A between a fishing line release state and a fishing line winding state. The fishing line guide body 60 includes an opening part 68 horizontally wide in a longitudinal direction that is rotationally supported in a front-back direction and in which the fishing line is positioned in a fishing line release state a fishing line guide part 67 horizontally narrow in a longitudinal direction in which the fishing line is positioned in the fishing line winding state and a regulation part 69 that prevents removal of the fishing line from the fishing line guide part to the opening part in the fishing line winding state.
