PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a way to treat chronic obstructive pulmonary diseases etc., by providing new means related to glycosaminoglycan oligosaccharides, which inhibits matrix metalloprotease.SOLUTION: It was found that the problem was overcome by providing a matrix metalloprotease inhibitor or a matrix metalloprotease inhibiting method, an elastase activity inhibitor and a therapeutic agent for treating chronic obstructive pulmonary diseases etc., in which one, or two or more kinds selected from the group consisting of hyaluronan oligosaccharides, keratan sulfate oligosaccharides, 6-O-sulfated N-acetyl heparosan and N, 6-O-sulfated heparosan, as well as pharmaceutically acceptable salts of the glycosaminoglycan oligosaccharides are contained as effective ingredients.COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT【課題】グリコサミノグリカンオリゴ糖に関連した、マトリックスメタロプロテアーゼを阻害する新たな手段を提供し、慢性閉塞性肺疾患等の治療の途を提供すること。【解決手段】ヒアルロン酸オリゴ糖、ケラタン硫酸オリゴ糖、6-O-硫酸化N-アセチルヘパロサン及びN,6-O-硫酸化ヘパロサン、並びに、薬学的に許容されるこれらのグリコサミノグリカンオリゴ糖の塩からなる群から選択される少なくとも1種又は2種以上、を有効成分として含有するマトリックスメタロプロテアーゼ阻害剤乃至阻害方法、エラスターゼ活性阻害剤、及び、慢性閉塞性肺疾患治療剤等を提供することにより、上記の課題を解決し得ることを見出した。【選択図】 なし
