According to an embodiment, a method of generating and modifying a virtual model of a set of teeth for manufacturing a physical model of the set of teeth is disclosed. The method includes obtaining a three-dimensional representation of the set of teeth； generating a virtual model of the set of teeth from said three-dimensional representation, the virtual model of the set of teeth comprising a gingival part comprising a gingiva； and modifying the gingival part to enable insertion of a restoration in a region of the virtual model configured for insertion of the restoration.
