The present invention relates to the use of a combination of azathioprine (AZA) and L- buthionine-[S,R]-sulfoximine (BSO), or the pharmaceutically suitable salts thereof, in the preparation of a drug useful in the treatment of a refractory tumor, preferably cancer. The combination in the invention has been shown to be especially effective, in particular in the treatment of solid tumors of the liver, colon and colon metastasis to the liver, tumors that are highly resistant to chemotherapy. The invention likewise relates to the pharmaceutical composition containing the combination and to the kit containing same.La presente invención describe el uso de una combinación de azatioprina (AZA) y L- butionina-[S,R]-sulfoximina (BSO), o sus sales farmacéuticamente aceptables, en la preparación de un medicamento útil para el tratamiento de un tumor refractario, preferiblemente cáncer. La combinación de la invención se ha mostrado como especialmente eficiente respecto de la técnica en particular en el tratamiento de tumores sólidos de hígado, de colon y de metástasis de colon en el hígado, tumores que presentan gran resistencia a la quimioterapia. La combinaison de linvention sest révélée particulièrement efficace par rapport à la technique antérieure, notamment dans le traitement de tumeurs solides du foie et du côlon et de la métastase du côlon dans le foie, tumeurs présentant une haute résistance à la chimiothérapie. Linvention concerne également une composition pharmaceutique renfermant cette combinaison et une trousse contenant ladite composition.
