The present invention provides a method of preparing a bioactive complex, which comprises a polypeptide element such as alpha lactalbumin or a fragment thereof in powder form and solid oleic acid or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof. Dissolving the mixture in an aqueous solvent containing a mixture of at least two, preferably three salts, the process being carried out at a suitable temperature. The preparation does not require excessive heating and is therefore simple and efficient.
