In one embodiment, the present disclosure provides a composition including an aqueous solution comprising about 1% to about 50% weight/volume poloxamer having the general formula HO(C2H4O)a(C3H6O)b(C2H4O)aH, wherein a ranges from 12-101 and b ranges from 20-56, and a substrate. In another embodiment, the present disclosure provides a method of attaching a substrate to a tissue by applying a substrate to a tissue and applying an aqueous solution comprising a poloxamer to the tissue in an amount sufficient for the poloxamer to hold the substrate to the tissue. In a third embodiment, the present disclosure a method of facilitating wound closure by applying an original substrate to a wound, applying an original aqueous solution comprising a poloxamer to the wound in an amount sufficient for the poloxamer to hold the substrate to the wound, and maintaining a substrate and poloxamer on the wound until wound closure.
