The present invention relates to a method for separating chroman compounds, particularly tocopherols and tocotrienols as well as their esters and chiral isomers of intermediates. It has been found that this method makes it possible to isolate the desired isomer in high yield and to use the undesired isomer in a very efficient manner. The method is particularly useful when carried out in an industrial process.
