PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide transparent water drink attached with moderate thickness allowing to take out from a container without sticking to a wall surface of a container, and causing no syneresis even at low temperature.
SOLUTION: The method for producing the transparent water drink comprises adding agar of &ge0.05 mass% and below gelling concentration, in more details, agar of less than about 0.15 mass% and preferably less than 0.12 mass%, and xanthan gum of &ge0.1 mass% and <0.25 mass%, to water and tea (including green tea, black tea, oolong tea, flower-flavored tea and herb tea). Furthermore, the method comprises heating and dissolving the product followed by subjecting to UHT (ultrahigh temperature) treatment and filling the product in a container at about 90°C followed by cooling.
