PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide, in repelling cockroaches from a desired site, a method that can surely repel cockroaches without applying repellent over a wide range and without increasing the amount of repellent used.SOLUTION: In the method of applying a cockroach repellent according to the present invention, a cockroach repellent is topically applied to the cockroach habitat area by spraying. Preferably, the cockroach repellent contains at least one kind selected from the group consisting of pyrethroid compound and essential oil as a repellent component.
