PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pest repellent method that exhibits an excellent pest repellent effect against pests in a space having a particular volume.SOLUTION: In the pest repellent method according to the present invention, at least 1 kind essential oil selected from the group consisting of peppermint oil, eucalyptus oil and lavender oil is volatilized in a closed space at a rate of 0.01 to 10 mg/L/day.
