PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an endoscope system capable of further narrowing an endoscope insertion section, miniaturizing its minimum bending radius and reducing problems such as damage of an optical fiber and subsequent time-lapse lowering of light output.
SOLUTION: This endoscope system is provided with a semiconductor light source provided in an endoscope body or a treatment device, a single-core optical fiber that is inserted into the endoscope body and guides light beam from the semiconductor light source, and a wavelength conversion part that is arranged inside a distal end of the endoscope-body insertion section to be inserted inside an observation object and converts a part or all of the light beams from the semiconductor light source guided by the optical fiber into light beam having a prescribed wavelength by a phosphor, wherein the optical fiber is retained and contained inside or outside the content inserted into the endoscope body.
