Aqueous-gel type topical compositions are described. The compositions can be in the form of a homogeneous suspension of an active principle of the class of retinoids including at least one hydrophobic silica, the active principle preferably having general formula (I), and more specifically being 3&Prime；-tert-butyl-4&prime；-(2-hydroxy-ethoxy)-4&Prime；-pyrrolidin-1-yl-[1,1&prime；3&prime；,1&Prime；]-terphenyl-4-carboxylic acid. Also described, is the preparation mode thereof and the use of same in the treatment of dermatological conditions.La présente invention porte sur des compositions topiques de type gel aqueux sous forme de suspension homogène d''un principe actif de la classe des rétinoïdes contenant au moins une silice hydrophobe, le principe actif répondant préférentiellement à la formule générale (I), et plus particulièrement à l''acide 3"-tert-butyl-4''-(2-hydroxy-ethoxy)-4"-pyrrolidin-l-yl-[1,1''；3'',1"]-terphenyl-4-carboxylique, sur leur mode de préparation et sur leur utilisation dans le traitement de pathologies dermatologiques.
