PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a single bearing reel which has a frame having a smaller diameter than those of flange portions, and does not bite a line between the frame and a rod-mounting portion, even when the line drops from the flange portions.SOLUTION: The single bearing reel has a spool 3, a spool shaft 2 and a reel body 1. The spool 3 has a line-winding body portion 35, the first flange portion 36a disposed at one end of the line-winding body portion 35, and the second flange portion 36b disposed at the other end of the line-winding body portion 35. The reel body 1 has a circular frame 10 supporting the spool shaft 2, and a rod-mounding portion 12 fixed to the frame 10.
