PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a suture having such performances as to, when a tip end of a needle-like member is engaged with an engagement member, be inserted with as small resistance as possible and, once being engaged, be less liable to come out.SOLUTION: A suture 6 is formed by providing an engagement member 6a at both ends of a thread-like member 6c respectively, the engagement member engaged with a tip end 52a4 of a needle-like member of suture equipment that is used by being inserted into a body. The engagement member 6a includes an engagement part 61 having a through-hole 61a in which the tip end 52a4 of the needle-like member is inserted a holding part 62 that is joined with a part of an outer edge of the engagement part 61 and holds the end of the thread-like member 6c and at least one projection part 61b joined with a part of the through-hole 61a of the engagement part 61 and projecting so as to direct to the inside of the through-hole 61a.
