PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To turn a distance between an opening and a back sheet member to an appropriate size in an absorbent article.SOLUTION: In the absorbent article 1, between an absorbent sheet member 20 and a back sheet member 23, a front pocket, a rear pocket and a pair of side pockets 28 spreading from an opening 25 are formed. In the absorbent article 1, a pair of weakened areas 236 provided to the back sheet absorber 233 of the back sheet member 23 overlaps a pair of side elastic members 242 of the absorbent sheet member 20 in the plane view. When pockets are formed, since the pair of side elastic members 242 makes contractile force act on the absorbent sheet member 20, the back sheet member 23 is bent in the pair of weakened areas 236 and both sides of the back sheet member 23 are raised.
