The present invention relates to a mutant strain of Tremella fuciformis TFCUV5 having excellent growth rate and polysaccharide productivity, and to uses thereof. The mutant strain of Tremella fuciformis TFCUV5 of the present invention can address the existing problem with polysaccharides derived from Tremella fuciformis, where despite having excellent texture, thermal stability, and pH stability, the polysaccharides produced from Tremella fuciformis have been difficult to use in the production of moisturizers due to unstable supply and demand of the polysaccharides and difficulties in extraction and purification processes.
