PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an oral skin protecting agent which prevents or reduces the inflammation of skin induced by ultraviolet rays and the deterioration of skin associated with it, by single ingestion, using an extract derived from a plant with edible experience.SOLUTION: The oral skin protecting agent includes crocetin or its pharmacologically allowable salt as an active constituent. The oral skin protecting agent exhibits the effect of inflammation inhibition activity of skin induced by ultraviolet rays by single ingestion.
