The present invention discloses a tissue tomography system and a photo-acousto-optic tomography method thereof. The system comprises a first light source, a second light source, an optical detector, and a processing device. A first light wave with a predetermined wavelength of first light source is arranged for irradiating a tissue under test of the portion of an organismsuch that a scanning point of the tissueunder test irradiates out an acoustic wave when the scanning point is expanding and shrinking. The second light source is arranged for emitting a second light wave with a predetermined wavelength to irradiate the tissue under test such that the second light wave interact with the acoustic wave irradiated by the scanning point. The optical detector is arranged for receiving a light wave signal comprising of the second light wave modulated by the acoustic wavethrough the interaction.
