The present disclosure relates to cosmetic compositions, typically in the form of an emulsion, comprising cholesterol, at least one ceramide, and oils. The compositions are particularly useful for supporting natural lipid barrier function of skin. Also disclosed is a process for manufacturing the cosmetic compositions.
