The present invention relates to simple and integrated devices for assessing lung health. In one embodiment, an all-in-one device that is able to measure lung function, ventilation, inflammation and breath identification of aerosol propellant for monitoring asthma inhaler effectiveness and compliance. In another embodiment, the device uses a gas sensor composed of a sintered metal oxide and/or solid electrolyte that detects HFA-134a through a change in electrical conductivity or a change in voltage when gases are adsorbed on the sensor's surface.
