A headgear for securing a patient airway interface device to a patient's headcomprising a concave partialhelmet having an outer surface and an inner surface and having a left lateralelement, a right lateralelement, a top portion and a back portion, wherein the left lateral elementand the right lateral element areseparated at a front half of the concave partial helmet by a void between thefront half top portion of theconcave partial helmet and the left lateral element and the right lateralelement； when on the patient'shead the top portion of the concave partial helmet terminates at the foreheadof the patient's head with afront face of the top portion of the concave partial helmet that is proximalto the forehead having astabilizer for supporting a hub and wherein the left lateral element and theright lateral element isstructured to terminate on either side of a patient's face near a cheekportion without directly touching thecheck portion and wherein a section of the right lateral element and the leftlateral element that is near thecheek portion includes an opening that permits passage of a strap from theouter surface to the innersurface and wherein a portion of the inner surface of the concave partialhelmet that is structured tooverlay the back half of the skull when the headgear is in use is separatedfrom the patient's head by apliable material that is attached to the inner surface.
