PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a toothpaste composition while having a strong astringent real feeling, having an easiness of putting it well on a toothbrush, having less threading property and excellent in preservation stability as almost not having liquid separation or the deterioration of paste surface after a long term preservation, and further the tooth paste composition having a good taste by suppressing a bitter taste.SOLUTION: This toothpaste composition includes (A) 0.1 to 3 mass% copper compound and/or zinc compound, (B) 0.1 to 3 mass% xanthan gum and/or hydroxyalkylcellulose, and (C) 0.1 to 4 mass% powdery cellulose, and having 0.1 to 15 mass ratio of (B)/(A) and 0.1 to 15 mass ratio (C)/(B).
