A surgical instrument comprising: an end effector； a rod extending proximally from the end effector； a trigger assembly configured to cause a plurality of staples to be applied； a hinge assembly configured to pivot the end effector against the rod； a locking member configured to move between locked configuration and unlocked configuration； and a housing extending proximally from the shaft, the housing may be removably connected to the shaft when the blocking element is in an unlocked configuration, the housing comprising: an engine configured to actuate at least one of the starting assembly and the hinge assembly； and an controller in communication with the engine, the controller being configured to activate the engine to reset at least one of the starting assembly and the hinge assembly to its original state when the locking member is moved between the locked configuration and the unlocked configuration. 2. The surgical instrument of claim 1, wherein the casing further comprises a trigger drive system, wherein the trigger assembly is in an initial state in which the trigger assembly is operably connected to the trigger drive system. The surgical instrument according to claim 2, wherein the hinge assembly is operably connected to the trigger drive system.
