A device (20, 40, 50, 60) for treating wounds with negative pressure and rinsing with a fluid medium, comprising: i. a vacuum dressing (15) containing a sealed coating, with the possibility of the formation of a wound cavity between the specified coating and the bottom of the wound, ii. pressure measuring means (2) configured to generate pressure measurement results, wherein the pressure measuring means (2) has a fluid connection to the wound cavity, iii. drainage vessel (1) for fluid collection, iv. drainage pipe (3), through which fluid from the wound cavity can be sent to the drainage vessel (1), v. a first pumping unit (4) for suctioning fluid from a wound cavity through a drainage pipe (3), the first pumping unit (4) having a fluid connection to the drainage vessel (1), vi. instillation vessel (7) for accumulation of instillation fluid, vii. instillation conduit (8), through which the instillation fluid from the instillation vessel (7) can be fed into the wound cavity, viii. means for supplying instillation fluid from the instillation vessel (7) to the wound cavity, ix. a control device (5), wherein the control device (5) is configured to receive pressure measurement results from a pressure measuring means (2), characterized in that: x. when the wound cavity reaches a predetermined upper limit of negative pressure, the control device can issue a signal to turn off the first pump unit (4), xi. when a predefined lower limit of negative pressure is reached in the wound cavity, the control device can give a signal to interrupt the supply of instillation1.
