593209 Disclosed is the use of a composition comprising a surfactant, a metal chelating agent (EDTA ethylene diamine tetraacetic acid), and a photo-catalyst (Rose Bengal) in the manufacture of a medicament for use on skin and wounds for the diagnosis and treatment of a biofilm, the photo-catalyst being capable of preferentially staining biofilms. Also disclosed is a kit of parts comprising a composition comprising a surfactant, a metal chelating agent (EDTA ethylene diamine tetraacetic acid), and a photo-catalyst (Rose Bengal) and a light source capable of activating the photo-catalyst to fluoresce.
