The present invention relates to a new method of treating ophthalmic diseases or conditions that delivers corticosteroids to the eye surface, but which does not induce common side effects associated with topical administration of corticosteroids. More specifically, the present invention provides a method of treatment comprising administration of a corticosteroid prodrug such as dexamethasone palmitate to the eye surface.
