A catheter assembly (10A) comprises a catheter (12), a catheter hub (14) connected to the catheter (12), an inner needle (16) having a needle tip (17), a housing (18) connected to the inner needle (16), and a protector (20) which covers at least the needle tip (17) of the inner needle (16) along with removal of the inner needle (16) from the catheter (12).
