PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ion generator capable of emitting ions farther and also to provide an air conditioner.SOLUTION: An ion generator (10) includes: a discharge electrode (41) for generating ions by discharge； and a cover body (21) which is provided so as to be rotatable in the periphery of the discharge electrode (41). The cover body (21) includes: a cylinder part (22) which has a cylindrical shape and in which the discharge electrode (41) is arranged in the inside thereof； and a blade part (26) which extends from the cylinder part (22) toward the outside and receives air flow.
