PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide non-embryonic stem cells which may circumvent the obstruction of embryonic stem cells of which use is hesitated due to ethical consideration.SOLUTION: Disclosed herein are a somatic stem cell being CD10+, CXCR4+ and CD31+, and another somatic stem cell being CD105+, CD44+ and nestin+ derived from a blood sample or bone marrow sample. Also disclosed is somatic stem cell being adherent cell having pluripotency or multipotency. Also disclosed are methods for preparing these stem cells, and methods for using them for treating degenerative diseases such as muscle degenerative diseases.
