PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for a low height and high density cultivation of tomato which is capable of preventing the lowering of fruit quality, the reduction of the number of fruits for shipping, the increase of the number of days necessary for maturation, the deterioration of working efficiency and the lowering of chemical-spraying effect.SOLUTION: This method for the low height and high density cultivation of tomato comprises fix-planting plural seedlings of tomato at 5 to 20 cm intervals so that a branch 14 of a first flower cluster elongates from each of main stems 4 in the same direction, growing a second stage flower cluster having a second flower cluster in the upper direction of the first flower cluster, a third stage flower cluster having a third flower cluster in the upper direction of the second flower cluster or a fourth stage flower cluster having a fourth flower cluster in the upper direction of the third flower cluster to bloom each of the flowers in the second to fourth stage, and then, on fruiting fruits 7 by the pollination of each of the flowers, etc., bending at least the second and third branches and leaves 12, 13, 22, 23, 32, 33 in the upper direction of each of the above flower clusters so that the tip end parts of them leave from the above flower clusters in horizontal direction.COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT【課題】果実品質の低下、出荷果数減少、成熟日数長期化、作業効率の悪化や薬剤散布効果が不十分になってしまうことを防止できるトマトの低段密植栽培方法を提供する。【解決手段】複数のトマトの苗を、それぞれの主茎4から第1花房の枝14が同一方位に向けて伸びるように5cm~20cmの間隔で定植した後に、上記第1花房の上方に第2花房が付いた2段の花房、若しくは上記第2花房の上方に第3花房が付いた3段の花房、又は上記第3花房の上方に第4花房が付いた4段の花房を育成することにより、2段~4段の花房の各花を開花させた後に、当該各花の受粉等により果実7を実らせる際に、少なくとも各々の上記花房から上方に2本目および3本目の枝葉12、13、22、23、32、33を、その先端部が上記花房から水平方向に離間するように湾曲させるトマトの低段密植栽培方法とした。【選択図】図1
