PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a radiation image detector having both of high image quality and durability.SOLUTION: A radiation image detector 1 comprises: a radiation image conversion panel 2 including a fluorescent body 18 having a group of columnar crystals, each of which is grown into a columnar shape from a crystal of a fluorescent material emitting fluorescence upon exposure to radiation, and a protection film 19 which covers at least a fluorescence emitting surface of the fluorescent body a sensor panel 3 which detects the fluorescence emitted from the fluorescent body and an adhesive layer 25 lying between the protection film covering the fluorescence emitting surface and the light receiving surface of the sensor panel, for laminating the radiation image conversion panel to the sensor panel. The surface of the protection layer is subjected to plasma treatment.
