A magnetic indenter assembly is disclosed. The magnetic indenter assembly generally includes a guide receptacle and an indenter guide magnetically coupled to the guide receptacle to form a magnetic interface therebetween. The guide receptacle can be attached to a surgical device such as a surgical robot operator arm. The indenter guides receive and guide the indenter to allow the user to press the prosthesis into the patient's bone in a planned position and orientation.
