PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce a measuring error in an electronic clinical thermometer for which the sublingual part of a subject is a measurement region.SOLUTION: An electronic clinical thermometer comprises: a detection part 110 for detecting a temperature； a body part 130 for calculating a body temperature of a subject on the basis of a detection signal outputted by the detection part 110 and displaying the body temperature； and an extension part 120 of which one end is connected to the detection part 110 and the other end is connected to the body part 130, and into which a signal line for transmitting the detection signal is inserted. The extension part 120 includes a portion 122 formed in a U-shape. The length of the extension part 120 and the opening width of the U-shaped portion are specified such that the center of gravity of the electronic clinical thermometer is balanced in a space below a support position where the detection part 110 is supported when the detection part 110 is supported from below by a member inserted from the opening direction of the U-shaped portion.【課題】 被検者の舌下を測定部位とする電子体温計において測定誤差を低減させる。【解決手段】 温度を検出する検出部１１０と、検出部１１０より出力される検出信号に基づいて、被検者の体温を演算し表示する本体部１３０と、一方の端部に検出部１１０が接続され、他方の端部に本体部１３０が接続され、前記検出信号を送信するための信号線が内挿された延設部１２０と、を備え、延設部１２０には、Ｕ字形状に形成された部位１２２が含まれており、該Ｕ字形状の開口方向から挿入された部材によって、該検出部１１０が下方向から支持された場合において、電子体温計の重心が、検出部１１０を支持する支持位置の下方空間においてバランスされるよう、延設部１２０の長さ及び前記Ｕ字形状の開口幅が規定されていることを特徴とする。【選択図】 図１
