PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an oral cavity image pickup unit capable of image picking-up a condition of occlusion of the upper dental arch and the lower dental arch from the inside of an inherent oral cavity.SOLUTION: The oral cavity image pickup unit 1 includes: a frame body 3 a holding member 4 and an image pickup apparatus 5. The frame body 3 is inserted into the vestibule 12 of the oral cavity, and the holding member 4 is provided there. The holding member 4 is constituted so that it extends into the inherent oral cavity 23 from the vestibule 12 of the oral cavity, and the image pickup apparatus 5 is held there. The image pickup apparatus 5 is positioned in the inherent oral cavity 23 and is constituted so that the back sides of the upper and lower dental arches 13 and 14 can be image picked up. In the oral cavity image pickup unit 1 constituted like this, the holding member 4 passes through between upper jaw node back edge parts 21L and 21R and retromolar nodes 19L and 19R and extends into the inherent oral cavity 23 from the vestibule 12 of the oral cavity.
