A process for the production of a probiotic additive capable of improving gastrointestinal conditions of both ruminant and monogastric domestic animals, thereby allowing meat and milk production efficiency to be increased, along with an economic profit due to substantial savings as a result of a reduced feed concentrate (expressed in grains), in addition to the fact that it can be used to increase the nutritional value of agro-industrial waste which allows conventional feed products to be replaced. The product of the present invention comprises a mixture of indigenous microorganisms and added microorganisms. The microorganism inoculum is a mixture of lactobacilli and yeasts that are cultured by a fermentation process using the previously specified ingredients as substrates. The microorganisms present in the final product are a variety of Candida and Lactobacillus species, in addition to other predetermined indigenous microorganisms which are cultured in the media. The aqueous base com position comprises water and whey, and the solid base includes wheat bran, soy flour, molasses, minerals, urea and sulfate. It is recommended that the product be supplied according to the animal type, its live weight and productive stage. Also, it is recommended as an inoculum for solid-state fermentation of agro-industrial sub-products such as straw, stubble or fibrous material having a low digestibility and a low-value protein content.Proceso para la producción de un aditivo probiotico capaz de mejorar las condiciones gastrointestinales de animales domésticos, tanto rumiantes como monogástricos lo que permita elevar su eficiencia de producción en lo que respecta a producción de carne y leche.
