The present invention relates to an MR-compatible apparatus and a method for somatosensory stimulation which includes an air mat which expands when air is supplied； a coil which vibrates and generates heat according to a supplied current； and a stimulation control part which controls the air, which is supplied into the air mat where there is a pressure stimulus, and controls a current which flows along the coil when there is the sense of vibration or heat. The air mat and the coil are arranged inside a shield room of a magnetic resonance imaging apparatus.
