Provided is an autonomous walking aid which is specialized for cognitive impairments, which respects the sense of autonomy exhibited by patients with cognitive impairments in their desire to walk independently, and which aids said patients in autonomous walking using their own feet. This wheelchair-like walking aid uses the sense of autonomy of a user, i.e. a patient with a cognitive impairment, to encourage independent walking, and is provided with: a harness capable of being attached to the user a frame having wheels respectively provided to left and right sides thereof at a front and a rear thereof a seat surface attached so as to be capable of ascending and descending within the frame and a grip-bar frame which is provided, in an upright manner, to a front side of the frame.
