PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To attain photoacoustic measurement where high-energy light is transmitted and it is possible to eliminate deviations in the energy levels of light that passes through a plurality of optical fibers.SOLUTION: A photoacoustic wave detection probe 11 comprises: a light-guide part 44 which guides measurement light L so as to irradiate an object M to be examined with measurement light L and an acoustic wave oscillator 20 which detects a photoacoustic wave U generated within the object M as a result of irradiation with the measurement light L.
