PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an endoscope apparatus which can block an aperture section in a situation of attaching an adapter for an endoscope to an insertion section of the endoscope without enlarging the adapter for the endoscope or the insertion section of the endoscope and can maintain the soundness of an electrode terminal for a long time, and the adapter for the endoscope.
SOLUTION: The adapter for the endoscope is equipped with an illumination section to emit the illumination light and an adapter side electrode section 18 electrically connected to the illumination section and is removably attached to the insertion section of the endoscope which is inserted in an examinee, wherein the adapter side electrode section 18 is equipped with a long-sized hollow case 30 having an end aperture section 35 formed at an end in a longitudinal direction L and a columnar electrode terminal 31 which is disposed in the hollow case 30 to be movable in the longitudinal direction L and can be projected from and set in the end of the hollow case 30 in the longitudinal direction L through the end aperture 35, and the inner diameter size of the end aperture section 35 and the outer diameter size of the electrode terminal 31 are set to be identical.
